Sign In Your Way: Microsoft and Google SSO, Plus Your School's Own Subdomain
Ask any school IT manager what fills their inbox in the first week of term. Password resets. Hundreds of them.
That's why we've shipped two updates that change how your community reaches TEX: single sign-on with the identity systems schools already run, and a branded subdomain for every organization.
One login your school already has
TEX now supports single sign-on (SSO) with Microsoft 365 / Azure AD and Google Workspace — the two platforms that power almost every school we work with.
Staff, students, and parents click "Sign in with Microsoft" or "Sign in with Google" and they're in. No new password to invent, forget, and reset. For IT teams, that means:
- Fewer reset requests — credentials live in your existing directory, not in another database
- Access control where you already manage it — deactivate a leaver in your directory and their TEX access follows
- Faster whole-school rollouts — no credential distribution exercise before launch day
The TEX sign-in page with Microsoft and Google single sign-on.
We've also added last-login-method tracking, so when someone does get stuck, your admin can see exactly how they last signed in and untangle the problem in one conversation instead of three.
Your school's own front door
Every organization on TEX now gets a custom subdomain — your school's name, right in the address bar:
- Students bookmark one memorable address instead of a generic login page
- The sign-in experience carries your school's identity from the first click
- Behind the scenes, the subdomain routes everyone straight to your school's environment — no picking your organization from a list
Each school gets a branded address that routes directly to its own TEX environment.
Why this matters
Adoption lives or dies at the front door. When signing in takes credentials people already have, on an address that clearly belongs to their school, usage stops being an IT project and starts being a habit.
Key takeaways:
- Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace SSO are live for all schools
- Every organization gets a branded subdomain with automatic routing
- Last-login-method tracking helps admins resolve sign-in issues quickly
Ready to make signing in the easiest part of your rollout? Your account manager can enable SSO and your subdomain in one setup call — or request a demo to see it live.
